BSS MONDAY IDEA - FAUX BURNT EDGE TECHNIQUE

WELCOME TO THE BUFFALO STAMPS AND STUFF MONDAY IDEA.

Today's idea is to create a faux burnt edge.  I used to burn the edges of wedding invitations and decoupage them to a decorative board and paint flowers as gifts for brides.  The burnt edges were to make them look aged.  I used a candle and had lots of burnt fingers along the way.
This technique is done with distress inks!
There is an explanation of the technique here

Close up of edges.
Pretty simple technique.  Rip the paper toward you so it leaves ragged edges.
I used Frayed Burlap first, then Black Distress ink, just on the very edges, to achieve
the burnt edge look.

Card Recipe

Stamps - Snowman, Northwoods, Sentiment, Stamp A Mania
Gingham - Impression Obsession, Cover a Card, CC006
Papers - Dark Brown textured card stock, Carmel Colored Glitter Paper
Snowman and Gingham stamped on cream colored card stock.
Flower is cut from Burlap and Gold Sparkly net from a
Tim Holtz Sizzix die, Tattered Florals
Small snowflake punch and twine bow
Tree brad from my stash

This is a great technique for aging a project or card.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you have a chance to try this technique
Last idea before Christmas, so I just want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
See you next Monday.

Hi, I'm looking for a way to email you but I can't find the address anywhere. My tim holtz tag die has seprated from it's base plate and I've been told I can only get it replaced through you. I bought it awhile back but I live up near Ottawa Canada.. can you help at all or direct me to someone who can? Thanks.
