School Days, School Days, Dear Old Golden Rule Days!

Remember that one? I know I'm dating myself, but for many of us it's back to school as September starts. For me, this is my last September with a child starting school. School busses will start rolling down our streets again and those shared traditions we all experienced as students and then as parents and grandparents begin again. My year has always begun in September rather than January even after I formally left college as my husband is in higher education and I kinda like it like that.

So outside of paying tuition and room and board for a distant child, what do I do at the beginning of a school year? I plan what cards and little gifts I want to send my daughter and her room mates. What a great excuse to indulge in Lawn Fawn, MFT and many of the other stamp companies we carry! I'm already thinking about Halloween and the box I'm going to be sending off to Ithaca. I'll share when I get there.

For us here at the store, we are doing a bit of organizing, restocking, class planning and a little decorating to welcome the fall. Here's what's new this week:

We've gotten in a very nice shipment from Tonic including the Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat. I'm enjoying mine although I haven't gotten it terribly inky yet...

The fall and early winter holidays are our focus as we STILL are putting back product and rearranging the store! This is some of the embellishments that come with the Simple Stories Christmas collection. We have a few paper packs (not many) and open stock on a number of the individual papers.

Up front, on the counter we have our sale Taylored Expressions as well as a bunch of other companies we have reduced, check it out!

New W+9 stamps and dies.

Christmas dies, stamps and washi from Penny Black, Stampendous (stamps with dies included!) and Right at Home wreath building sets.

I'm not sure if you've seen these papers or more accurately foam sheets. These are NOT the thickness of craft foam like Jennifer McGuire uses on the backing of her cards. This is Flower Foam. It feels like foam but has the thickness of paper. It cuts very easily with dies because it is so thin. I can see someone using this for a more dimensional result with Altenew's layered dies.
As I'm running late tonight that's all folks. Have a crafty weekend and watch out for school buses!
