Winging it Wednesday, Again!

I've got a wide variety of 'stuff' for you today. So glad the store's name is Buffalo Stamps and STUFF. First up is Sharon's Wednesday video HERE. (The usual black outs and pauses are at the start of this video. Please be patient and wait them out).

A little housekeeping, I believe Sharon has  only one more slot left for Maker Mania 4. Call the store to sign up. The Stamp, Scrap, Art Tour is coming back to the Fairgrounds and we are selling tickets at the store.  We will not be attending the show as a 'store' but you may run into Sharon on Sunday as she roams the show floor. NOTE: The store will be open on Saturday as usual but we will not be open on Sunday.

I have a few photos of new product to add to Wednesday's video. Concord and 9th and Lavinia.

Concord and 9th turnabout stamps and dies.

Lavinia stencils

I took Sharon's Pink Fresh Washi tape class last week because I love these rolls and have about 4 of them and can always use some design inspiration. I really like the lemon and blueberry roll and told Sharon I'd die cut several repeats worth for her. It looked easy enough but I found a little glitch when I began mounting the Washi on strips of white cardstock. When the roll begins you automatically think it will begin with the wreath image with the smaller images following because that's how the die looks so that's how I mounted the tape. I was in for a surprise when I went to use the die to cut out my images. Turns out you need to start with the images and end with the wreath. Let me show you what I mean.

1. The first repeat mounted on 4 1/4 X 11 strip of cardstock.

2. When I placed the die, which is not meant to be cut apart, on my strip nothing matched! Everything was upside down.
.

3. However, if I flipped the the die around the wreath matched, but all the smaller pieces hung off the edge.

4. The solution is to skip the first wreath until the die lines up with your rolled out Washi and begin with the smaller pieces. In order to cut what I had already mounted, I had to cut the wreath piece away from the smaller pieces and cut them separately. It wasn't such a big deal but it did create a bit more work and I'll have to remember my adage to 'measure twice, cut once'.

Here is one completed cut set, so pretty!

Our weekend outing was to go the VanGogh exhibit, Beyond VanGogh, at the Eastern Hill Mall. We loved it. It was very immersive and the technical creativity was impressive. The whole exhibit moved, on the walls, on the three sided panels in the middle of room and even on the floor. We stood there and kept turning and turning and turning as the exhibit evolved.

You can see how tall the panels were in this photo and some of the shifting images as they play out on the floor.

My first funny for the day comes straight from my husband. He calls Cooper a different name all the time. Everything from William Shakespeare to Oliver Wendell Holmes (not to mention Coop, Coopie, Baby, etc.)

I figure this should be my moto when it comes to remembering anything!

That's it for me for today. I'll see you again after Saturday's video. Until then Stay Safe and Happy Crafting.
