A little class, a little Mona demo and a LOT of product. Christmas in July, August, September…here we come!
Here is the stamp set Kim used in her inspiration card from Monday. It's from PhotoPlay, 'Busy Bees'.
Kim was in the store during the video and shared her next card class. We’re calling it Dino-Mite! Cards. I commented at least twice ‘sign me up!’ The volcano card has a pull up tab which you will learn in class.
Back in stock, this Penny Black die (it’s sideways in the package); deer in the woods.
Next up is a series of “Pie” dies from Spellbinders. Mona has create four FANTASTIC cards. I said it in the video, I love when Mona overdos, There are several multi piece dies sets in these cards. I will try and get them with the right cards. This first is a a sentiment set and behind it a checkerboard stencil, think classic check tablecloth.
Mona's first card features the stencil and stamp set shown. It features a 3-D pie box with a pie inside!
This is the die that makes the pies you will see inside the pie boxes. It has different lattice tops and you can even make an individual slice of pie. It is called 'Sky View Pies'.
This is the die that will create the dimensional box. Mona has a hack for assembling both the box and placing the pie inside. If my description is not clear, probably, please check out the YouTube video for this. Also, I'd check out Spellbinder's blog and any videos they have for assembly tips,
You can tell from the die above, each edge has a very narrow edge you need to fold in. This can be really hard to do with our adult fingers. You do have help in that all the folds are scored by the die. Mona's hack is to gently fold the edge with your thumb and forefinger toward you then reinforce with your bone folder. You can then more easily fold that narrow end back in the direction intended.
Mona's next hack is a bit harder to illustrate. Basically, when you make your pies for inside the box if you don't anchor them, they will slide around a bit. Mona suggests you take a piece of scrap paper and adhere to the back or bottom of the box to provide a platform area to attach you pie to, This will also prevent others from seeing through to the base you mount your box on. Lastly, if you are making a dimensional shaker card, it gives you a sealed base for all your 'shakies". Speaking of shakers, this box would give you space to add higher dimensional 'shakies' to your shaker, think beads, 3-D gems, etc.
Look how fabulous this came out! The small fruits and the pie cutter/server are from additional sets.
The inside of the card using the sentiment set in the first photo.
Here is the 'Slice of Pie' die set with another Mona hack. When cutting out utensils or anything from metallic paper, back it with another die cut in plain white. It gives your utensil more stability and a better, base, Metallic papers can be a hard surface to adhere to. She doesn't recommend adding another metallic piece as they can take longer and are more difficult to adhere to due to the shine of the paper. To the left of the pie slice die set you can see the add-on set Mona used to embellish her cards. These all coordinate with the Pie dies and can be used with other images, a very versatile set.
You can see pieces of the utensil set in the bottom left below.
Last in the series is 'Perfect Pie'. Again, Mona has used metallic paper for the pie plate and add-ons from the 'Delicious Decorations' for her perfect pumpkin pie.
Back to more new product. Pink Fresh is up first. We're starting with a series of background plates. I'll try and show you the die itself and then the back of the packaging that shows how it looks cut. First, this is a card a Heidi, a customer, sent Sharon using Pink Fresh stamps, dies and foiling plates. Sharon displays the cards you all send her. This one was right on the back counter, easy for her to grab and show!

This is Floral Backdrop
This is Geo Arches. The sample on the reverse shows it combined with the foil plate.
This is the Ornate Medallion.
One of Sharon's favorites, 'Dotted Scallop'
Ornate Circle
Next is several of their floral stamp, die, stencil and hot foil plate combos. These are all sold separately but I'm showing them together. This first is a sentiment stamp and die combo that can go with all these other floral images and more. I believe it is called 'Heart Smiles'. To the left you can see a slim-line called 'Mini Slim-line Frame'. It appears further down.
This is 'Fancy Rosebud' it has a matching stencil and die.
This is 'Folk Floral Stem" It comes in S-stamp, D-die, F-Foil, ST-stencil.
Here is that Mini Slim-line Frame
Sharon was moving way too fast! Pink Fresh aleo makes this metal rectangle with turned up edges that make using and cleaning up all those 'shakies' - gems, jewels, beads and more, much easier to manage. The pointed end makes sliding extras back into their pouches so much easier.
Back in is the gold die cut sentiments that Sharon used with her Washi tape cards from Pink Fresh last month or the month before. I've been waiting for these.
Papers, 3-D pop-up die cuts from Germany and more! First is Lisa Horton designed 3-D embossing folder 'Oriental Floral'. Remember, you do not have to do a slim-line card. Use only the portion of the image you like best. It's why Mrs. Fiskar made scissors.
Frosty & Bright Collection from Crafter's Companion
Asuka's Collage Frames
Ciao Bella from Italy - Alice in Wonderland collection. There is 12X12 papers, ephemera, journaling cards AND two stamps sets.
Rice paper. These are great for scrapbooks, junk journals, mixed media and more. Sharon will be getting more in.
More of these gorgeous ink and gold blend 6X6 pads. Beautiful colors in coordinating shades.
Sharon gets these whenever she can. They come from the UK and they have a beautiful fonts and sentiments that are the perfect size for cards.
We used to have so many of these and are finally able to get them back in. I attended one CHA with Sharon many years ago and there was a booth with these designs. No one spoke English or they spoke very little. It didn't stop anyone from buying these! The detail is wonderful and they just pop out of the back piece. There are numerous layers and they are all numbered, which is good as there are no other instructions! Don't let that stop you. They are a little challenging, but great fun to put together. In the second photo I tried to show you what the finished images look like on backgrounds but Sharon was moving too fast.
Studio Light Essentials. These dies will help you make your own journals, books, and folios with all the pages, tabs, pockets, edges and everything you can imagine in between.
Next up is Creative Expressions.
This is a two piece die designed to use on a center gate-fold card.
Next up is Spellbinders. Several of the die sets we showcased a week or so are in. Also, Sharon wants to make you aware of some confusing packaging by Spellbinders. I’ll explain as we go but for now, always check the back of the package to see the dies that are actually enclosed in the package in your hand. Let’s start with my first example of what I’m talking about. This looks like the mailbox die. It is not. This is a die set for all the little items that are stuck into the mailbox. As part of Sharon’s weekly video chats with manufacturers and designers, she mentioned the confusion this kind of packaging causes. The reason, she was told, is that the big box stores say this more project friendly image is more pleasing (and probably tricks shoppers, my reasoning…) to buyers?!?
Here are the arches and diamonds in foil plates and stacks dies. We have both arches and diamonds in stock in both forms.
We do have the mailbox die in. It is sold on it's own AND in a bundle that incudes the mailbox, floral accents and sentiments. We have it in both forms, bundle and singles.
This is a floral accent set that Sharon will be using in an upcoming class.
The skate has been very popular. This is the large skate, versus the one you see on the sled below.

Here is another prime example of misleading packaging. This package photo makes it look like You are getting the sled, the skates the floral accents and the words, NOT! You are only getting the words!
This is the back of the package above.
We also have a sentiment stamp set, 'The Winter Garden Sentiments'.
This is the best seller, 'Be Bold Blooms'. Behind it to the right is 'Winter Evergreens'
'Stitched Ornament' is a potential Kim class. You do not have to stitch! You can use gems and background solids.
'Winter Evergreens' again.
This is too cute, 'Party Balloon' and the stamp set 'It's Party Time'.
I did not get the name of this stitched background die.
The 'Plaid' Foil Plate
I love this Christmas sentiment die.
The diamond die to go with the diamond foil plate.
These hot foil sentiments fit into the front of the mailbox die!
This is the left facing cardinal.
More sentiment word dies for Christmas. If you remember the cards and catalog Sharon showed several weeks ago, these will look familiar.
Here is another example of misleading product photos. You would think you'd be getting all you see on this card. You are only getting the sentiment and the banner it is on. The reverse of this package is below.
Last for the stamps, dies, foils and stencils is this 'Blooming Tree' foil plate. This is one of Sharon's favorites.
We're not done with Spellbinders. Lastly we have these staggered gems, great selection, lots of sizes!
Second to last is Woodware
This would make a great background tone on tone, Sharon's idea.
Lastly, if you can believe it, is Penny Black. I do not have a good photo of the front of this stamp but I have a great photo of a finished card using this stamp and several other new elements from Penn Black.
Here is the card. Colored beautifully, with the accent die border to the left and a sentiment at the bottom.
Here is the die that makes that criss-cross design. It has three different sizes in the package. I believe it's called 'Cross Stitched Borders'
This is a lovely, back in stock music background die.
Several sentiment stamps are in. These are great. You can use a different one each year. I think this one is 'Thoughts and Prayers'
'Jolly Snippets'
'Joy and Warmth'
'Not Older, Better'
'Shine God's Glory'
'So Thankful'
Next are some of the cutest of PB's line, their little bears. The following are the front, back and card sample of the little guy holding the holly stem,
Next are card collections that Sharon will be using for a class. We will have little to no sets available for regular purchase as these cards are printed on Masterpiece paper. This paper is in such short supply we won't be able to get more of these cards in. What we have is reserved for the class.
Large ornament die.
I love this Joy die. Here is a sample.
The backside of the die.
These sweet birds are also here. Sorry, I don't have a name for you.
I think this is Nature's Garland.
There are two pine cone stamps in this release. 'Pine Cone Poetry'
Another pine cone and berry stamp that I don't have a title for.
'Share God's Glory'
Merry with a mirror border. Sharon will be doing a sample that will illustrate how you use this.
Here is a sample of the 'Merry' with the poinsettia from above used above and below with the Merry in the middle.
Life's Journals
Smaller sentiment stamps, 'Festive and Feathery'.
'Flurry'
Small Sprigs
Stocking, don't have the full title.
This die has little birds that can be used on a multitude of designs.
Stamp stem and leaf images including mistletoe
126 photos! Oh My! So happy I have golf to watch while I cut, paste, type and enlarge. Check out the website for class dates, descriptions (doing those next) and Stamp Camp info.
I don’t want to forget, congratulations go to Amy Corey who won the foil machine raffle for Ukraine support. We will be donating $230 to Jose Andres’ World Central Kitchen which does so much to provide food and hot meals to not only Ukraine relief but emergency, disaster, and other needy hot spots throughout the world. They were one of the first relief organizations here in Buffalo after the Tops shooting. Congratulations Amy!
My second funny for the day. Today I use Wikipedia!
That’s it, finally, for this week. I’ll be back after Wednesday night’s video. Until then stay crafty, start planning those Christmas cards, and most of all Stay Safe!
