Wednesday Night Lights!

Still trying to find a catchy title for Wednesday's blog post. I've got lots for you today. I'm starting with lots of new product. We are starting with Waffle Flower

I missed who makes these, I think Waffle Flower and I think they are stickers???

Sharon is now carrying a new liquid glue called Bearly Art. I had been seeing several designers using this glue in their card demos and what I liked about it was the super fine tip it comes with. The Bearly I ordered, and have been using, came with two tips, a fine tip and an extra fine tip. I love it! It's a white liquid glue on par with Nuvo. The delivery system makes it my current go to liquid glue.

Last in our new product show are these lil' monster dies from Elizabeth Crafts. Sharon will be using these along with two of Elizabeth Crafts pop-up dies to show you two card designs below. We're starting with Monster 3 and Monster 2.

Next is another lil' monster, number 1 I think, along with the pop-up die we will use.

Here is the flip die and a coordinating stamp set that you can use with these dies and many more.

You may want to use these lil' monsters dies for birthday cards for your lil' monster. Elizabeth Crafts has a coordinating die for that! If you have a fan of Sesame Street in your card recipient list, EC also has a garbage can that looks to be just the right size for Oscar. You can even make a little cookie for a Cookie Monster card as Monster 2 looks a lot like Cookie!

We have new classes coming! Our first samples are Sharon's Graphic 45 class for July. She's using one of my favorite collections from G45. This class uses an 8X8 pad for these cards.

This is another card class from Sharon in a slim-line style using Concord &9th flower dies and a Photoplay tag die and Waffle Flower  sentiments stamps. The Zoom kit users will have to stamp their own sentiments. We have more classes and descriptions will be coming up in the near future.

Here are some highlights from Wednesday's FB video. Sharon demoed the a flip die and a pop-up die from Elizabeth Crafts along with the lil' monster dies. First is the flip die.

Create the card base and use the add-ons to cover the top and bottom of your base with patterned paper. Here is the base card die. It has your cut lines and score lines to make folding a breeze.

There are two additional dies that create a mat for the upper part of the card and another for the lower part of the card.

In addition, thee is a die for the center piece that swivels as you open the card. In addition there is a Happy Birthday die that fits in the center piece.

You can use the positive or the negative piece. In Sharon's video she shows how you can use the negative piece to line up your letters perfectly. You can also do the reverse, using the negative image as your message, fitting in the letters that have internal pieces like the A, P, B, R and D. Just gently place the letter in the negative space, place a drop of glue in the 'triangle' of the A, place that little triangle on your glue drop an then lift off the A. Your negative A is perfect!

In Sharon's second sample she put one of the lil' monsters in the center piece. It's not shown, but Sharon cut a piece of the bottom mat piece and glued it to the back of the bottom portion of the card to give the card a little more strength. If you use an 80 lb. paper, this is a great idea to give your card more stability.

Next up is the General Pop-Up die. This die comes with different sizes of pop-ups that you can place where they work best for your card design. This die set really lets you customize your card and be really creative.

When you are planning your pop-up elements, do a dry fit to make sure it will not stick up out of the card.

To kick up her little guy, Sharon took a brown distress tool, without adding ink, just the residual ink left on the sponge, to give a little depth along the edges of the red monster. The eyes, teeth, or dentures as Sharon called them and the horns are easily placed on the monster as there are little guide indents you can use. Sharon used paper, but you out use googlie eyes for the centers of the monster's eyes for a little pop.

Sharon used this birthday stamp set from Mama Elephant for her sentiment and placed her little red monster inside the card on the flat base.

For a more detailed description of the construction of these cards check out the YouTube repeat of this video. Mona will be on-line with a video on Friday so I'll be back with highlights from that video along with Sharon’s Saturday video.

I’m getting by with a few funnies from my friend beginning with this post. Alison sent me a bunch of funnies that should keep me going for quite a few weeks. Just swap out 'Her' for 'Wife' in this one and you have me and those 'sisters' who get me...

That’s it for today. Have a crafty, sunny good week and Stay Safe!
