I think I have my Wednesday blog video title. What do you think? This weekend I’ve traded my early morning bicycle racing viewing for the cooler climes of Scotland and the British Open. I’ll get my cycling in in the afternoon or evening but the cool temps of Scotland are very refreshing.
On to our video summary. Sharon is sharing and demoing one of her favorite stamp companies, Heartfelt Creations. She is showing parts of their holiday release and her new technique for creating depth in a card. Let’s get started. Sharon is using the Holiday Star stamp and die sets for this demo.
Here you can see the detail and the amount of dies you get in this set. At the bottom is also a decorative banner die that comes with the set. The stamp set comes with several sentiments that fit into this die.
Here are all the pieces that Sharon cut out. The first and last have Copic coloring to enhance the images and help with the dimension Sharon will create.
This is the top of Sharon's card. You can see what will be the base behind it.
Sharon is lining up the base, the top AND the dark violet piece that will be attached to the base but must be aligned with the layer that will be raised on top of it. Once the pieces are aligned, Sharon glues down the dark violet piece.

Next, Sharon takes the piece with the light violet shading and layers it on top of the top piece of her card.
Sharon shows you what all the pieces combined will look like on the card. The dimension comes next.

Using a low profile foam square, Sharon starts layering the inside layers of her design. She is layering the white layer with low profile squares to the dark violet layer that is flat to the card base.
Using tiny foam squares that will allow her to give stability to the delicate fine tips of the star points,
Sharon is adding TWO layers of a thicker foam square to raise the top of the card design up higher than the center layers giving those inside layers a recessed look.
All layers have been added, adhered and are ready for any additional embellishment Sharon wants to add. Can we say a little bling??
I've tried to show the layering depth of the card as Sharon tilted it to show on the video. As she was moving the card constantly, it was difficult to get a clear picture illustrating the dimension. This is the closest I could get.
Another close-up of the finished front.
Sharon created a second card using the same stamp and die set but his time instead of black stamping, Sharon embossed the images with silver and added color with Copics in a lovely aquamarine, BG10 and BG11, I'm guessing.
Sharon adding bling to her second design with opal gems from Spellbinders. She was sent a sample, you can see her sheet above the card. These gems are on order and will be in shortly.
Lastly, Sharon die cut the word 'greetings' with a layer of Die Cut and Bond attached to her paper before cutting. Here she is carefully pulling the backing off her word die.
Again, Sharon colored her white die cut with Copics to match the colors in her star.
Sharon did a class using several other stamp and die combos from Heartfelt Creations. This is the Floral Mosaic. Sharon added glossy accents in dots to create a little gloss and dimension on the border circle elements of the basic design and the border design at the bottom of the card. She is pointing to the raised element in the second photo.
This is another card in that class, Elegant Mosaic. Both designs are either on order or in stock currently.
Want another way to use the Holiday Star die and stamp? How about a shaker?! Your inside layers will be flat. A layer of acetate is added to the top layer. Taylor Expressions or Waffle Flower foam strips raise your top layer. This one is on a stenciled snowflake image background.
Again, Sharon is adding a sentiment with a Die Cut and Bond backing. This die cut is very thin so Sharon is being very careful removing the backing.
Another version of this die and stamp set done in the more tradition 'build it up' style and in red.
This stamp also has three sentiments, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Season's Greetings.
There is also a stamp and die combo with larger sentiments.
Happy Holidays
Season's Greetings in a delicate script with embellishments done in gold and silver.
Another stamp and die in this collection is the Large Holiday Star. You can see the Season's Greetings stamped at the bottom of this card.
Call the store to place your order for when these stamps and die come in!
One of Cooper's favorite 'tricks' is to bring us one of his mini tennis balls in such a way that it goes under the couch or the recliner I sit in. Then he sits in front of us, whining slightly, tail wagging, looking between us and under the couch or chair. WE have to get the ball out from under the furniture, not like this guy...
STAMP CAMP IS COMING! Sharon announced at the end of the video that she is working on Stamp Camp's August dates. There will be a Friday night ZOOM session, with instructions included in your kit along with Saturday and Monday in-store sessions. Look for dates to be posted soon on the website. Lastly, July 16, 2022 is coming fast. What does that mean? 716! or Buffalo's area code! We think that calls for something special. Keep an eye out for an email, FB post, instagram note of a one day in-store special for 716.
I'll be back after Saturday's video so until then stay crafty everyone. I've got two classes under construction, my G45 dimensional piece under construction and another class to create! I hope you are either as busy with your crafts as you want to be or taking some time off to enjoy your summer. Stay Safe everyone and I'll see after Saturday's video.
