There’s Always Next Year…

Enough said.

We have some new product and a small demo for you today. First, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and we have a small area in the store with lots of hearts and love. You don’t need to have a romantic partner to send a Valentine. You can send a Valentine to a bestie, a parent, a grandparent, a child, even a pet! If you love these designs, think out of the box and enjoy the making.

First up is Concern & 9th and their Potpourri Background die.

This flowered background die has a unique feature. The large single flower in the upper left corner can be removed from the rest of the background.

You can use the die just as is OR you can remove the flower so a larger solid silhouette  background is part of your die cut.

You can do a number of things with this large open space. You can cut a flower from another color or do a tone on tone with another flower layer or, as in the photo below, you can even fit a sentiment stamp in the large white space.

Here is the stamp set we used for the setiment, Sweet Sentiments from Waffle Flower.

Sharon also used a large word die set, Sweet Sayings from Concord & 9th,

With this die you can make multi layered and colored sentiments. You get the shadow, the background AND the individual letters. They are nested together and you will need to cut repeated times for the amount of layers you want, but you can do everything from a tone on tone single color to up to three different color layers.

Sharon cut down a small part of the Potpourri background to make space for a smaller sentiment. I believe this is a Lawn Fawn 'happy birthday'.

Love Lines is another sentiment die set from Concord & 9th. Sharon used this black and white patterned paper and accented it with gold pearls. The pink card is made with a small patterned Doodlebug paper. Both these cards are examples of a quick and easy card you can make that can be used for other occasions or just because, with these 'Valentine's' dies.

My Favorite Things is next with a lovely box of chocolates called appropriately, Box of Chocolates.

Sharon used shimmer paper for the red background in the heart. The sentiment die is called Sweet Nothings.

MFT also has this really cute typewriter die set with a coordinating sentiment set. You know Sharon (and Tom Hanks) love vintage typewriters and we have been using one in the store at our entry display for years. We also have a typewriter die from Hero Arts in the store. I pulled this image off an email from Nicol Spohr, a designer who creates for a number of companies and has a great YouTube channel where she shares her cards and projects.  The die set is called Typewriter Die set and the sentiments are Typewriter Sentiments: Love Stamp Set.

Back to Concord & 9th, we have their Perfect Matchbox die set. The is a multi-use die set. Switch up the papers and sentiments and you can use this die set year round. We're using Doodlebug coordinating papers for Sharon's demo. It is easy-peasy to assemble and it creates a great treat box.

First is the sleeve of the box. Use a good strong glue to create the box so that your matchbox does not fall apart on you.

Sharon used a coordinated solid for the pull out portion of the matchbox. Again, use a strong glue to adhere your tabs. You know Sharon loves her Nuvo!

Sharon used the Sweet Sayings die set for the Hugs and Kisses. Doodlebug also makes enamel accents that coordinate with their papers.

Here are two examples of another way to use this die. These next two embellishments are from the Perfect Matchbox Die set.

You can even fit two little candies inside your matchbox.

Mona will be doing a Friday afternoon video around 2-2:30 and Sharon will be back on Saturday at 9:30. Even though 'enough said' has the Bills out of the playoffs, we'll still be hosting our Super Bowl party on February 12.  Call the store to reserve a spot. Check out our new and repeat classes. Spend a few hours in store or on Zoom creating cards with the latest designs. I updated my Tiered Tray class with a replacement for the Christmas themed card. You will still get the Christmas card but you will also get a fourth card.

My funny for today is for all us dog lovers. Cooper has no trouble with his eyesight (or sniffer). No squirrel or bunny escapes his sight. His hindsight is also spot on...

That's it for me until Friday's and Saturday's videos.  Until then get crafty everyone and above all Stay Warm AND Safe!
