My Labor Day Oops!

I totally forgot to do the blog! I saw Sharon's video on Saturday, saved the screen shots and totally forgot to put the post together on Sunday! Let's see if I can make up for lost time. We're starting with Sharon's video from Wednesday evening. Sharon demoed these dies that make two styles of lanterns but can also be used on your card fronts on their own.

The snowflake die makes three connected sides. By cutting our two, your lantern will have six sides.
Sharon is using a heavy weight vellum in the windows of the lantern.

You can also use acetate as seen below.
After reinforcing your folds, between, lantern sides and the tabs at the ends along with the tabs and the triangle tops, Sharon suggests you use a strong score tape or redline tape on those tabs to piece your piece together and to join the triangles at the top.

Sharon placed a twinkling tea light inside to show you how it can be illuminated.
The other die in this collection features two windows with outdoor scenes of a deer in the woods an a centered pine tree. This die has only two sides that when cut twice creates a square box lantern. If you'd like, you could put three together to make a six sided lantern like the snowflake die. Sharon did the basic four sided lantern.
The vellum used in this lantern is really special.  If you look closely at the next two photos you can see stars in the vellum. This is a special starlight vellum where you only see the stars when the vellum is lighted.

You can also use the images of the deer and the tree on their own as there is an additional die in their package that lets you cut out just the image and use it on a card front. You can also give your image a scallop edge with the scallop arc die that is included.

Moving on to Saturday, Sharon shared her finished projects from Wednesday along with the packaging of the heavy acetate, fairy lights and star vellum, all of which are on order and should be in shortly.

Halloween is not only Mona's favorite holiday, I believe it's also Tim Holtz's. We have stamps, and lots of fun ideology. We're starting with stamps. These are red rubber and the individual images can be used as a whole OR each image can be punched out and use individually!
Spooky Sayings and...
Spooky backgrounds.
Next are all the different papers, ephemera, chipboard and die cuts that come from Tim,

These are really cool. They are acetate's - bats and broken glass!

Tim has also released several of his most popular dimensional items like skulls, caldrons, headstones an dripping candles to name a few. Many of these embellishments have been released previously in different sizes.

Tim has fairy lights also, but these are orange and green (I believe, or maybe purple and green).
Next up is AALL & Create. They have three scene builder dies.

There are also new stamps from AALL & Create.
More dies.

More stamps!

We've got some Crafter's Companion, a few odds and ends and we'll end with LOTS of Sizzix!

Sharon threw this in because it can be very easily adapted to a fall die as seen in her sample.
Great holiday background stamps,
We have two sizes of headstones! That's right, headstones. We have lots of pieces you can use to decorate these chipboard 3D dimensional projects compliments of Tim Holtz.

Next up is LDRS for Christmas. They have BetterPress plates and matching dies.

More Letterpress plates.

Sizzix is last for product with stamps and matching dies.

Lots, lots, lots of fall die sets.

Last up are some new classes for September. Beginning Colored Pencils with Charlene.
Taylored Expressions Flowers. If you like to color with Copics, this is the class for you, great practice.
This is the mixed media Dina Wakely class. It's free form and everyone's cards will be different.
The background's the thing here but you get the stamp in this class.
Pink Fresh Washi & Stamp class. Two of your cards will be done with Pink Fresh's latest holiday Washi and the other two are done with FP's latest stamp for the holidays.
This one is mine, a Shaker Class. A shaker three different ways.
These next photos are of Sharon's accordion album class.

A continuation of Sharon's Graphic 45 card series. This class is July, August and September. If you love to fussy cut, this class is for you. Be prepared to get your kit when you sign up as there is homework!
Samples for the layout class. There is an orange version or a blue version.
