~A creative environment for the soul...

World Fussy Cutting Day was inspired by our friend Sharon Klima, who passed away from a heart attack in January 2025.
Sharon had owned her store, Buffalo Stamps & Stuff for over 30 years and was known and loved by many in our industry. Proud wife, mom and grandma, she loved memory keeping and cardmaking – especially when fussy cutting was involved. Many of us liked to sit by her in classes, so she could do our fussy cutting for us.
The weekend before Sharon passed, she participated as a host instructor for a virtual cardmaking event. Throughout the weekend, she mentioned she wasn’t feeling well but thought nothing of it. She just thought it was something she ate or a touch of the flu. None of us expected that we would lose her on the Monday after the event.
Sadly, Sharon’s story is not unique. Heart disease symptoms are not easy to discern, and they are different in women than in men. Often when we are not feeling well, we tend to minimize our symptoms and push on, caring for others before ourselves.
I’d like to think that Sharon would be grateful that her story could be used to help others, and that’s what World Fussy Cutting Day is all about. Let’s learn together about heart disease and how we can better take care of ourselves for many more years of crafting.

FYI: The store has 30% off discount this week.
Let's start with the fun news, the Bills WIN! Great game Allen's broken nose and all. If you've been following my posts on this blog for as long as I've been writing them you know that while I root for the Bills, my number one team is the New England Patriots. They've been my team for over 40 years. My second choice of loyalty goes to my husband's Cleveland Browns and boy, is that a hard one. Lastly, I can't help but admire the devotion Buffalo has for the Bills and they are so much fun to watch.
On to this weeks sale at the store.

That's it for me for this week. I finally found my Halloween box that has all my stamps, dies, papers, ephemera, inks, sprays and more so I can finally start my Halloween cards. Decorating starts soon, how about you?
Have a good week everyone and above all, Stay Safe.
Big Sale at the store this week, 30% off your entire purchase. Remember that the usual exceptions apply. This was posted on Facebook on Sunday and I've tried to copy it and paste here. Sharon and the store belonged to Crafters Home, a consortium of independent small craft stores that enables independent store owners to have greater purchasing power and supports these stores with instructional classes and other promotional perks. They have been incredibly supporting and helpful to the family in the wake of Sharon's passing.
The date of October 25th is especially important as it is Sharon's birthday. I'll be getting my scissors out.
I've been loving the weather and temperatures of the past week. Sleeping is easy, I can wear a sweater or sweatshirt and I don't need the AC! The store gave the girls the Labor Day weekend off but the store will be open again starting tomorrow, Tuesday, September 2. We've also got a new sale for you.

I've been a slug for most of the weekend but I have been trying to plan and organize the cards and projects coming up this fall. I'm going to be missing my fall scrapbook retreat with my central NY friends as we'll be 'on the road' or more correctly 'in the air' on a trip to Spain. My daughter has planned and organized the whole thing.
The above mentioned daughter is traveling now, to Singapore! We've gotten some lovely travelogue photos but as usual we're still waiting for ocular proof she's there via a picture with her in it!
That's it for this week. Take care everyone, watch out for those school buses, SLOW DOWN in school zones and Stay Safe!
First, it was so nice to see so many store friends at both the Stamp, Scrap, Art Tour at the Fairgrounds AND at the store this weekend. I also was able to pick-up my Sharon's Scissors die set. If you pre-ordered your set it is available for pick-up at the store and they have extra stock if you'd like to purchase one now.

I was also happy to see Mark at the store on Saturday. He's doing well and we shared our favorite spots in Italy. He was also able to spend some quality time with Adalyn, Brianna and Scott while Jess was off on cruise with her Tupperware family. School has already started for them down in Alabama and the girts are growing like weeds.
I found this funny searching for my sign-off emoji. I don't have the cat but I get the sentiment!
