BSS MONDAY IDEA - LAST MINUTE GIFT CARD/MONEY HOLDERS

Welcome to the Buffalo Stamps and Stuff Monday Idea.

Today's idea is a couple of adorable last minute gift card or money holders.
With Christmas only 10 days away, the rush is on.  These two gift card or money holders take only a few minutes to make and are so cute.

The base for both of the gift card/money holders are:

A piece of card
stock cut at 41/2 wide by 8 inches long.

Score at 3", 6"

Fold up the 2" end and fold down the  3" score.
Using adhesive, secure both ends of the two inch
end on both sides to form a pocket for your gift.

Santa's Suit

After making the base card from Red Sparkly Glitter Card Stock, I glued
White 1" fur strip (JoAnn's by the yard) to the bottom by folding in half and gluing
half to the front and half to the inside along the edge. If you don't have fur, use white
sparkly glitter card stock.
I made a belly band from a 3/4 inch x10 strip of black card stock.
The buckle is made from Spellbinder's Labels Twenty Two (S4-346)
but you can use a simple square.  I cut it from Gold mirror paper.
Two slits were cut to thread the black card stock through.

This is the inside.  I lined the inside before adhering the two inch
pocket to the sides with candy cane stripe paper.

Slip your gift into the pocket and put the belly band in place, your done!

Snowman's Hat

The base gift card holder is made exactly as above.  I used black glossy card stock.
Cut two pieces of the same card stock 51/2 inches long by 1 inch wide.  Use a corner rounder to round the bottom corners.  Adhere one of the strips to the front of the card. The top of the strip should sit on only about 1/2 inch of the bottom of the card.  Turn the card over and adhere the other strip over top of the first strip, lining it up, so that one strip will be on the front of the card and the other on the inside.  I cut a 4 1/2 inch by 3/4 " piece of glittered card stock in blue for the hat band and adhered it just above the hat brim.
Decorate the hat to your liking.  I used a Sizzix Sizzlits die Holly with Berries #5 (657031).
The snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch using gold glitter paper.

This is the inside of the hat.  I covered the top with some red striped paper.
The sentiment is a die from A Cut Above (IME-087)

These are fun and quick.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Have a great week.
