I was away last weekend at the wedding of my nephew on Long Island, the land of pizzerias and delis! I must admit even though we were there for a very short time, my taste buds and waistline made the most of it. I didn't make it to the deli but I ate at a Long Island wedding factory, for lack of a better description. In my day the award went to a place called the Huntington Town House. This place could run three 200+ guest weddings, two bar mitzvahs, an anniversary party for 100+ and a Christening party for 200 and not bat an eyelash or drop a plate - all at the same time, with another round scheduled in the evening! Our event had a outdoor ceremony, the bridal colors were black and deep purple, the bridesmaids carried brooms with flowers on them and the bride's dress had a layer of black tulle under the top white layer and was trimmed in black. Bottom line, it was a traditional wedding with a heavy metal twist. Here are the centerpieces. Yes, that's a skull at the base. It was a raucous good time and there bride and groom are enjoying 10 days in Hawaii. Me, besides my food coma, I brought back a cold...
