Classes, Classes, Classes!

When was the last time you took a class with us? Now I know we all get busy this time of year with buttoning up after summer, kids back to school, prepping for fall - BUT, what better time of year to relax and take a great card class with us. We have had some exceptional card classes over the last few months but we haven't had a lot of interest in them. As fall is my favorite time of year and I love the lush, deep colors we see this season and in the holidays coming up, I thought I'd devote a post to the classes we have currently running and a few coming up. We all put a lot of energy and time into creating classes for you to practice and improve your coloring, to show you new techniques and to showcase ways to use new stamps and other products we sell. So come in, check out the class boards at the front of the store, the class gallery on our website, our emails posts or the photos below and take a class with us.

First up is an exciting new guest artist from the western New York area. Laura Cott, artist and colorist extraordinaire, will be with us for two classes on October 19th. In both classes Laura will show you how to use alcohol ink to create beautiful watercolor images with new techniques. If you have used alcohol inks in the past, Laura will show you new ways to use them to create gorgeous backgrounds in one class and florals in the second. A basic knowledge of alcohol inks is suggested for both classes.

Here are just a few of our currently running classes for you to see. This is 'Fall Colors' using Impression Obsession stamps.

UPDATE: NEW Class added! - Fall Die Cut class! We have so many beautiful fall die cuts, Sharon has put together another class that will lead you right through Thanksgiving!

A new class with an old friend, Memory Box. We've used new products from Memory Box in this great holiday class.

Classic coloring with images from Penny Black are featured in these cards. What a great way to relax.

We do a scrapbook layout class the first week of every month. You might miss this one but the sample will be on display on our back cabinets for several weeks and we will have a new class in November.

This is a really cute class using AI Peek-a-Boo stamps and dies. Both the stamp images you see and the corresponding dies come in one package. The dies line up with the windows and doors of each stamp so you can open the flaps and see images inside! Kids would love these. We will also be following up with a holiday version of these Peek-a-Boo cards.

This is the latest example of Janelle's AI watercolor class. AI for those who don't know is Art Impressions. They have several lines including the the stamps in the previous photo but in this class  you will use their more delicate 'create a scene' stamps along with Tombow markers to watercolor these images. Sign up and Janelle will show you how!

There are more classes on display and we have more classes planned including a holiday class using the new Mama Elephant release and we have our monthly My Favorite Things class with Stephanie Klauck. This month's class is her holiday class. It will last all day and we'll break for a pizza lunch.  We will do 5-6 cards featuring new MFT stamps and dies. It's a party!
