I'm starting with what looks like Christmas paper but isn't. This is winter paper. Do you have a relative or friend whose birthday is right near Christmas or on Christmas Day? I do, one of my younger cousins was born on Christmas Eve. As a young child I remember answering the phone around the dinner hour from the hospital telling us that my cousin Karl had been born. So every year I try to remember to send him a card for his birthday. I need to get going on that!
Look UP! We have Copic markers, yes. But we also have Tombo markers, white markers, gel pens in a variety of colors, gold and silver pens and more! Look down on the right hand side of the papers and you'll find replacement tips for those Copics. Sometimes all you need to do is change the tip on a Copic when it dries out rather than buying a whole new marker.
OK, Tim Holtz Glass Media Mats - I use one as my work surface at home and I bought one of the new travel size for my retreats. I love my mat! Now, we only have the left handed travel size, but frankly, I think it is just as usable for right handers. Matter of fact, I would have bought a left handed mat if I really thought about it. I use a right handed mat now, but a left handed mat would have my full black glass surface on my right handed side! I could mix my inks on the left handed, white squares, out of the way and I could keep the full black mat open for my card base on the right side!
Look DOWN! Do you look down, below the register counter? It's where we keep most of our 'tools'. I love tools! We have everything down there and I only really looked when I vacuumed! In this photo alone is the new erasing tool that was one of Jennifer McGuire's Favorite Things for 2019!
New Year - time to clean up and organize! We have different size plastic bags to put your stamp and die sets in. I also spy Wobblers in the upper right, great for adding fun movement to your cards.
Tools, how about scissors?! I have soooo... many scissors, and these Tim Holtz are one of my favorites. Warning. They are super sharp and super pointy. If you have little kids in your house keep them out of reach.
We have stick-it tools, clipper tools, bone folders, heat guns, centering rulers, replacement blades for a few styles of Fiskars cutters, sanding blocks and much, much more! So, don't forget to look down!
One thing about new product and sales. We mark new product with a color code. These products are NOT eligible for discounts or use with sale specials. We just want to keep transparent. So if you see us show a new release and you have a monthly coupon for 20% off a product, we may not be able to give you that discount on that new release item. This is a restriction put on us by various companies and is not us arbitrarily telling you, no discount. When we can, we will apply any and all applicable discounts to your purchases!
Also, you can use your full frequent shopper cards on REGULAR PRICED PURCHASES ONLY! If your purchases are all sale items, we cannot accept your card. Good news, we can use it on the portion of full priced items over $10 dollars in your purchase. We will give you marks on a card for the balance of those regular priced purchases and if you don't have any portion of your purchase that the card can be used for, don't fret - the card never expires, you can use it the next time you purchase regular priced materials over $10.
I hope my explanation wasn't as clear as mud...but I thought I'd try and explain our policies. It is also important that you present your full frequent shopper card the first thing when you check out. It helps us behind the register apply your discount appropriately.
Lastly, I'm doing this right now! I'm writing this crafting related blog to avoid the mess on my desk, the mess on my work space and all the stuff I need to do today before the holiday!!! Gotta go! Happy Holiday and I'll see you next week!

Donna, you've done it again. A highly entertaining and informative column.
You know I try to cover the whole store when I am visiting; I might not be back for months. One place I seldom look is in the clearance corner. Some time I want to pull a chair over and peruse the shelves, maybe straighten out some stuff, just for the fun of it.
Have memorable holidays and see you maybe in February.
Love you, Suzanne Skeels
