Demos, New Product, Valentine's Day and More! Part 1

We had a busy week with guest artists, product demos and new product for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day and spring. Sharon did a quick video on Wednesday afternoon and on Friday we were joined by a customer, Heidi Hurley from Duluth, Minnesota! I'll start with Wednesday's video. We have the new Distress Ink pad, Scorched Timber. We also have the latest new releases of mini inks in a package of four.

New 49 and Market. - Wherever Collection, a travel based collection.
Along with the page kit we have chipboard elements and die cuts.

There is also a second new collection in the store, The Teal  Collection.
This is a cloth bag that has extra elements from theTeal Collection.
We also have the fabric tape for the Teal Collection.
Die cuts

More from the Wherever collection, paper packs, pads, frames and more.

Finally from 49 and Market is this landscape album.
Next up is our guest artist for the week, Heidi Hurley. Heidi lives in Minnesota but is a frequent contributor to our Buffalo Makers Facebook page. She has a great design aesthetic and has done lots of samples for us. Due to Facebook's restrictions the only way we could get Heidi on our Friday video was to use Sharon's personal page. This created a split window with Sharon on the left and Heidi on the right. I've cropped out Sharon's side of my screen shots to make Heidi's side a bit bigger. The only problem with this is that Heidi's photos are not a crisp as I would have liked. Here is a sample of what we saw on FB during Heidi's presentation.
In all these samples Heidi is featuring the various Spellbinders Dancing figures.
This cute little dragon is the base of Heidi's demo.
These are the two cards Heidi is making in her video.

Heidi used these Cloud 9 Interference inks to color parts of her cards.
Here is a sample of what these inks look like on white and then on black paper.

Heidi also used Simon Hurley's Solar and Lunar Pastes to create a paper that she could cut some of the parts of her dragon out of.
Heidi used the Golden Hour Solar Paste as the webbing in her wings and the stomach of one of the dragons.
Heidi also used the Interference inks to add shading to her pieces.
To create the eyes, Heidi place a piece of white scrap behind the head and then glued the eyes in place.

Heidi used a white gel pen to add a drop of color into the holes impressed into the head of the dragon.
Here are the card bases with some added shading using there Interference Inks.
Heidi used this large cupcake die from Pretty Pink Posh.
Here Heidi is assembling the cupcake.

Heidi also added a velum heart behind the cupcake.

For this card Heidi did not use the dancing feature. She just glued the head to the body and placed it slightly behind the cupcake.
For her final embellishments Heidi added the 'XOXO' banner a heart, flower and clay hearts. Lastly, she picked out a sentiment she created earlier.

Her final card!
In this next sample, Heidi will use the dancing element of the dragon along with a frame she creates.
You can see the loop in the base of the body. Heidi placed a high foam square inside the loop. She also needs to place a high foam squares at the top of the head to allow the dancing element to move unobstructed.
A few clouds and our dragon is ready to fly away!
I've gone back to the split images as Sharon showed several of Heidi's samples on her screen while you can see Heidi's on the screen to the right.

Here are more samples using different dancing figures from Spellbinders.

I have more to share from Saturday morning's video. I'm going to do a second post which will appear before this one. My funny for today is in honor of Ground Hog's Day this past week where Phil predicted an early spring!
That's it for now. I'll be back with whatever is new this week coming up. Until then stay crafty and above all, Stay Safe!
