The Eclipse Came Early!?

I tuned in at 9:30 am on Saturday for Sharon's Saturday morning Facebook Live and found the store was experiencing the eclipse early!

Notice how dark it is in the store and how Sharon is sitting up in the front of the store? Turns out the early eclipse was NO ELECTRICITY in the store. Mark was the videographer until the National Grid truck rolled up to the door.

As soon as that truck pulled up Sharon was alone for the rest of the FB live. It turns out that the new tenants a couple of doors down were installing security cameras and the electrician drilled through the back wall of store right into the electrical wire that fed Buffalo Stamps and Stuff! It also set off a small fire and is not repairable until Tuesday! At that time NatGrid will be back with a commercial electrician (who hopefully knows what he's doing...) and the store will get power back.

Not only were we without electricity but the phones and the register were down. Luckily, we have very nice neighbors who let us piggyback on to their electric so we did have lights but that was about it. It took Sharon a good part of the day to get the phone switched over to her cell so we could actually get phone calls.

Unfortunately, for the some of us in western NY being able to watch the eclipse was a bust. My husband and I joined about a hundred other Williamsville residents at one of our local parks that had a nice large rolling hill. We camped out with everyone else with our lawn chairs and eclipse glasses and prayed the clouds would clear, We had about five minutes of full sun about a half hour before totality but when totality occurred it was completely covered by clouds. We did experience full night in the middle of the day which was cool but I guess we'll just have to watch the news tonight to see the eclipse itself.

Back to our regularly scheduled program. Mona made up a basket of new product for Sharon to showcase which helped out a great deal. We're starting with the latest release from My Favorite Things, but first we have one of Tim's sharp dressed bunny left in the store. He's not just for Easter anymore1
Next for all you gnome fans out there we have these cute set of gnomes with butterflies, flowers and a dragonfly, They are paired with a die set.
Sharon talked about these before. MFT is bringing out of the vault their series of basic nested shapes, scallop and stitched nets dies. You need to double check when purchasing these in any of the shapes they come in, circle, square, rectangle, etc. This first set will cut out a solid circle in the different sizes you see and they will have a scalloped and stitched border.
The set BEHIND this first set is a FRAME set. Look carefully and you can see a cut line below the stitching. This die set will give you 4 different sizes of scalloped and stitch FRAMES.
This is the square FRAME set. you can clearly see the solid cut line below the stitching on each die. All of these nested die sets are coming out again. The price point on these are a little bit higher because they are made in the US, but they are sturdy, long lasting dies.
We also have this set of common phrases in a not to big, but not too small size.
We love this set of phrases in this more modern script and plain fonts.
Next up are new color of Stickles. The red would make a great Christmas accent.

A few odds and ends, this glue pen from EK Success.
We have this "LOVE YOU" die that Sharon used during a previous Facebook live.
We got this back in from AALL & Create.
A new and improved Crop-A-Dile!
You can see all the different shapes it cuts out.
Next up are several of our card class that are coming up. First is Graphic 45.
Hexagon cards.
Birthday cake cards.
Sympathy cards.
Charlene's watercolor class.
Intro to stencils. there will be a Stencil 2 class coming.
A little inspiration for spring, tulips - my favorite.

This is a kit from Indigo Blue. You get all that follows.

The magazine is your idea book for using all the parts of the kit.

My last mention of the eclipse. I'm so over it!
That's it for me for this week. Hopefully Sharon has full power back on Tuesday. Until then take care, get crafty and above all stay safe.
