Wednesday Wrap Up!

I'm liking this Wednesday evening at 7:00 time. It does cut into my Jeopardy viewing, yes, I'm old...but it is a more relaxed time for Sharon so it's a good thing. I was at the store yesterday and went a little wild and wacky with the new Mama Elephant release. This is their last release until September when their late fall/Christmas release will start rolling out. I'm planning a fall/Halloween class with what I picked up yesterday. At the rate I work, I better hurry up, I'm already behind!

We’ll have an extra video on Friday with Mona and Sharon will be back on Saturday morning. I’ll have a little FAQ about the Garage Sale coming up on Sunday at the end of this post.

Sharon wants to use Wednesday night video as a technique or demo video. Saturday will be more 'what’s new' product focus. That’s not to say we won’t switch it up, but that’s the plan for now. Sharon is fruit focused in this video starting with Alexandra Renke paper and Avery Elle stamps and dies and Lawn Fawn dies among others. Here is a sampling of the cards we are featuring today.

Here is a small sample of Renke paper. Sharon will be using this cherry paper. I LOVE Renke paper. You can frame many of these papers they are so gorgeous.

Renke also has stencils. This strawberry pattern is no longer available so when it's gone, it's gone.

Let’s start with a simple card using Avery Elle stamps and dies. Sharon stamps and cuts out her images in white and colors with Copics almost 100% of the time.

Both of these cards come from the set above.

We’re using Renke paper, combining it with Taylored Expressions stencil and die set that allows you to make a see through tri-fold card for the cherry card. The cherries inside the card were cut out in white and colored with he following Copics. The die is from C.C. Designs.

There are three versions of the stencil/die templates. These are designed for Slim Line cards but I'm sure you can adapt them for an A2 sized card.

Sharon continues the lemon vibe and shows you how she put the following card together using the Taylored Expressions Stencil and Die Templates. Using Renke paper, Sharon cut a mat leaving an 1/8" border. The dimensions of the slim line card base Sharon uses is 6" by 10 1/2". Score at 3 1/2", and 7".

A contrasting pale blue mat was used on the first inside piece. Sharon is seeing how her coloring works with this paper. (She decided to go back later and touch up her coloring a bit).

Both circles have been cut in the first two layers of the card. Sharon has done enough of these that she doesn't need to use the templates, she just eyeballs it! Because the card is 6" from top to bottom, it will fit in all your die cutting machines.

Next Sharon will use the openings created with the two sizes of dies to position her stamped die cut images.

One of Sharon's favorite hacks. Because she doesn't want to move the lemonade glass once she's centered it through the opening, she takes her Nuvo glue, places a little blob on a small piece of paper and gently lifts the edges of her image and dabs glue on the underside of her image. This comes in handy especially with delicate images, like the thin straw sticking up.

Positioning one of her inside images.

Here's Sharon's finished card.

Our last sample demo is a shaker using Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Strawberry dies.

It's difficult to show all the steps involved. So I'll give you two key points. Sharon made a background with the seed base placing a piece of black underneath it. She then took two (2) of the stitched outline dies and sandwiched a piece of acetate between them for strength and ease of assembly. She then added a thin line of foam tape, Taylored Expressions foam strips and Waffle Flower's foam strips give you lots of options in both width and depth. Then she put a small pile of 'filler' on top of the seed piece, finally pulling the cover tape off as she positions the acetate sandwich on top of the foam, pressing firmly, creating a sealed shaker!

On her sample card, Sharon used a thick enough foam tape that she could add little beads that enabled her other sequins and materials to move more easily in the shaker.

Again, that’s a lot for this post and I have more! First, a product note. Taylored Expressions has requested that we not put their product in our on-line store. We will still feature TE’s products as we love them and we love Taylor! We will also share new product on the blog. You will be able to buy TE in store and if you see something you'd like, call the store to either place a special order or if we have it, purchase over the phone.
The Garage Sale is Sunday. Here are some FAQ’s:

Where and what time is the Garage Sale? The Garage Sale runs this Sunday, June 26th from 10-1 in front of Buffalo Stamps and Stuff’s store front and along the sidewalk in front of our neighboring stores AND in the empty storefront two doors down on the left. NO Early Birds please! We will not allow access to the tables until 10 am.

Is there still time to rent a table?
Call the store for the definitive cut off. You will need to price your items with a code we give you, so call soon! There is a charge to rent a table. I believe it's $20. Again, check with the store directly. We are asking that you price your items in full numbers, ex. $2, $5 etc. No prices below a dollar. We also require you only sell paper crafting items similar to what you would find in the store. All sellers will receive a store gift certificate in the amount of items purchased from your table. The GC will be good through September. No needlework, or other types of hobby supplies, please. Set up begins at 8:30 am. You do not need to stay at your table. Feel free to shop other sellers the come back at 1:00 and pack up and take away any items that did not sell.

What kinds of items will there be?
All types of paper crafting supplies will be available. Basically, almost everything we sell in the store may be available for sale, Our sellers are parting with their gently used stamps, dies, papers, and tools of all kinds. Storage containers used in stamping and scrapbooking are often available for sale. Also, many items are new, never taken out of the package!

How does it work?
Tables are set up along the front of our store and to the left along the sidewalk AND in the empty store two doors down on the left. You can use our store baskets or your own, browse the tables and pick up any items you are interested in. When you are finished, go into BSS and pay for your item(s) with CASH ONLY! Again, bringing your reusable bags is a must as we are not giving out bags. Store employees will be walking the store fronts and inside tables and may be available to help 'manage' your purchases if you need a little help. Again, no early birds, please.

Who can participate?
Anyone/everyone is welcome to purchase items of interest. Again, the only requirement is that you pay for Garage Sale items in CASH.

What should I bring with me?
Besides, maybe, restraint? Your reusable shopping bags to carry away your loot is recommended.

Is the store open and can I buy regular products?
The store will be open during the hours of 10-1. I'll warn you, the line at the register can get long. You may see something as you are waiting to check out that you'd like to purchase. You are welcome to purchase any store items. I believe you will be allowed to use charge for store items ONLY. If you are unsure, please ask before you pick any product up. Garage Sale items are marked differently and will be CASH only.

What if it rains?
Let it rain! Everything will be under cover and the sale will go on as scheduled.

Anything else?
Please be courteous to your fellow shoppers. Tables get crowded and jostling for your favorite stamp may happen. If you change your mind on an object, please make every attempt to put it back at the table you got it from. Lastly, enjoy yourself!

That’s it for now, I’ll be back after Mona’s and Sharon’s videos. It may be one post, it may be two, who knows?! I will see you on Sunday. I’m walking the tables, helping where I can and answering any questions you may have along with a chair and my trusty water bottle!

This week’s funny...

Have a crafty good week and Stay Safe!
