I'm back with Part 2 of my weekend post. This post will be Mona’s demo from Friday and Sharon’s video from Saturday morning. For Mona it's "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!" Mona loves Halloween. In her Friday demo she shared a little project she has been working on. She ordered large paper clips in neon like colors with the intent to add Sizzix's vintage Halloween faces to the tops of them. Unfortunately, or fortunately they were the wrong size. I think they work just fine! Here is her process for affixing them.
First, are a few photos of her finished clips. Here is one of the large clips.
First, take a large glue dot and fit it over the small loop end of your clip.
Mona cut two of each image and laid the glue dot on the tip of the clip stretching it over the arc to each side. She then added the clip to one of the images (the non stamped one). Then she adds a thin but generous line of glue to the exposed area of the image.
To help secure your glued images together, after the stamped image is added on top of the clip, Mona used these small clips to hold the two sides together until the glue dries.
Here are all those cute goblins. This makes a great kids party gift.
Mona's second Halloween craft used this Taylored Expressions die set. Mona cut her images out of felt and added googly eyes and a small, black clothespin. We have about three of these TE die sets in the store. Remember we cannot put TE in our on-line store, but you can always call the store to order.
Next for Mona is more of the turn-arounds from Concord & 9th. This is an easier turn-around to use because you rotate the stencil, not your paper.
Mona is using her Waffle Flower mat. It helps hold her paper as it tucks right into the top corner. But for extra stability, Mona has added a small piece of yellow tape in the bottom corner.
Here is her stencil. If you are going to use the matching die, it's important to use the top side of the stencil. The manufacturer helps by stamping which side is the top on bottom of the turn-around. (It's hard to see but 'TOP' is imprinted at the bottom of this stencil).
This turn-around has a matching die that she used to cut out a few of her leaves and popped them up. You can see the popped leaves in the next photo if you look carefully.
The second stencil Mona used was a wreath stencil.
You can see her colors at the top of the stencil.
Using one color at a time, Mona works her way around the stencil, turning a total of four times for each color/image.
One of her final versions.
Then Mona added one of the apple buckets from last week.
In a follow-up from last week's turn around, Mona added a layer of velum over her turn-around background and then the large apple and a banner.
Mona's last tip is she uses sanitizer to clean her Waffle Flower mat! It's hard to see but her sanitizer container but it has a wizened purple witches hand around it! I told you she loves Halloween!
Moving on to Sharon's Saturday video, she started out with a shout out to the Buffalo Bills and their impressive win over LA.

Lastly, I want to wish a Happy 30th Anniversary to my brother and sister-in-law who are celebrating by touring the great American west driving through Colorado, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana and finishing in Nevada at Vegas. The timing of this die was perfect! Here is the card that will be waiting for them when they arrive home.
