Pop It! Pop It!

Sharon was back on Saturday morning with some new arrivals, a class review and a short demo. We have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks as new spring and warmer weather themed products are starting to roll in. We’re starting with a quick class review. Lori is doing a Fun Fold class that’s a great introduction to basic interactive cards. Kim’s Pretty Pink Posh P Squared is also available for sign ups along with Sharon’s Taylored Expressions Stencil class.

49th and Market is rolling on in with a few new collections and some new products. This first collection is
Artoptions Rouge.

49th and Market has also developed this Ultimate Page Kit. This is great for scrapbookers. It contains all the materials you need to literally build, from the ground up, a multi layer page filled with coordinating ephemera, tapes and coordinating papers. Here are some of the ingredients enclosed in a sealable, reusable plastic pouch.

Next is the Artoptions Rouge patterned paper, coordinating solids paper pack and fabric tape.

We also have the film ribbon for both collections.

The second collection is a more neutral to sage green. I believe it's Eucalyptus. In this collection the tape is paper, not fabric like the one above.

These are the tickets.

This is the tape.

So many add-ons and you get so much in each package! This is the reverse of one of the ephemera packages so you can see all that is included.

This is also new, a Cluster Kit. Enclosed in this package is all the makings for a dimensional embellishment, or it can be card parts or a scrapbook element. You get twine, clips, chip board and pull aparts plus so much more!

You get so much in this pack and note, the paper is text weight.

Look at the paper and they give you thumbnails of front and back!

This paper pad collection size is very popular and Sharon is going to show you how you don’t have to be a scrapbooker to utilize this larger size paper a little farther down in the post.

Also new or back in stock, spray bottles and Pink Fresh foil plates.

We also have some favorites of Sharon's - Whipper Snapper for Easter and St. Patrick's Day. So easy and fun to color!

New from Tim Holtz's Ideology line, bunnies and tiny Easter eggs. Sharon hopes to have a sample so you can see how to color the eggs. She suggests you take a few drops of alcohol ink in a little plastic bag and drop the eggs in and swish them all around. Trying to hold and color with a marker may be a bit tricky.

We also have a favorite from Eizabeth Craft. A bunny and his carrot, a really BIG carrot!

Also, this delightful Easter card was made with the basket and egg dies shown.

Inspiration didn't strike Mona today so Sharon has a quick demo on how to use some of the lovely papers of 49th and Market and other companies that look like you can only use in scrapbook pages. Sharon shows you a cool tool and method for using those larger sized papers to make not one card, but multiple cards. This is a sheet from 49th and Market that Sharon will turn into three cards for starters.

These are scrapbook templates from Karen Foster. Karen Foster is no more but we have a nice little stock here in the store. Each piece is labeled with the size and all come on a round ring. Choose the size you want to make your card or the mat for your card and lay it over your large piece of paper.

You can see through the plastic enabling you to move the template, turn your paper, whatever to find the perfect section of this larger size paper for your card. Mark it on the paper and cut out your piece.

Sharon experimented with several template sizes and positions and came up with two different areas she wanted for cards.

Using another old scrapbooking tool and trick, Sharon takes a distressing tool and runs it along the edges of her paper .

As the paper has a white core and it will be adhered to a white card base, Sharon uses a little Antique Linen distress ink (not oxide) to tone down the white distressed edge.

The title of today's post makes sense now. To pop or not to pop, or more relevant, how hight to pop! Sharon likes to use a lower profile pop square on mats and she decided to pop her patterned paper to a solid and to pop that on to her card base. Here you can see the profiles of two different pop squares.

She also popped this sentiment die on top of her card.

Sharon took some twine and wrapped it around the mat of her second card, with a little finger help from Mona and will use the same sentiment die.

Looking at what was left of her original piece of paper Sharon realized it would be perfect for a slim line card! She will share what she comes up with when she finishes it later.

There's lots you can do with these beautiful papers. Don't assume they are either for scrapbooking or card making only.

My funny for today. No explanation needed…GO BILLS!
