If you haven’t heard already, it’s a very sad week here at Buffalo Stamps & Stuff. Our sweet store mascot and Sharon and Mark’s adorable Cavalier King Charles spaniel, Sadie passed away on Wednesday. She had made the trip to Alabama with Sharon and Mark to visit Jess, the grand girls, and her puppy cousins. During the trip she was having problems with her hind leg and they made a couple of vet trips there but when they arrived home Sadie stopped eating and drinking. Her local vet did more testing and the bottom line was her kidneys had shut down. She appeared in distress and Sharon and Mark made the difficult decision to end her suffering. To say we are saddened and upset is an understatement.
Sadie grew up in the store from a puppy. Sharon trained her by bringing her to the store. She greeted all our customers and would not let us start our day without getting a treat from those of us who worked there. Over the years those who watched Sharon’s videos along with those who watched her Maker Mania videos came to know and ask after Sadie especially when they would hear her ‘little’ snores in the background! I say little as before Covid when Sharon and Mark would travel to CHA conventions and shows I would house and dog sit for them. I got the house to myself along with Sharon’s craft room and I would walk Sadie and make her custom scrambled egg for breakfast. Sadie would sleep with me and would keep me awake with her ‘little’ snores. Once or twice she would stay at my house and my husband would take her for long (longer than I would) walks but she was always happy to go home to her humans.
Sadie had her own fan club among our customers. Some of our regulars would ask for her every time they came in and a couple brought treats for her when they came in. I know all of our customers, her fans, and all of us past and present who have worked at the store will miss Sadie and her swishing tail as she greeted us at the store. May she enjoy her favorite treats, long naps, and lots of tummy rubs as she crosses over the rainbow bridge.🐶🌈❤️
