It’s Another Manny Weekend!

Sharon and Mark went to see Manny (plus Kate and Dave, I suppose) so there was no planned Saturday video. However, Sharon thought it’s time to break in the next generation to Saturday morning product and projects videos. Here Manny is presenting Tim Holtz's new release. We also have his Holiday Distress Mica Sprays. There are two sets. Along with his new bottle brush trees in the longer, narrower style. We also have his red and green candy cane pieces and several varieties of ephemera including paper dolls and holiday die cuts. I hope to have photos next week.

Next are stamps and dies from LDRS for Halloween and the holiday season.

New plates for the Better Press.

Adorable characters from Spellbinders. These all have the swiveling legs.

More holiday dies, betterpress, waxes, and embossing folders from Spellbinders.

49 and Market has two new collections and we are getting them in piece by piece. The first collection is ‘Peach’ the other is ‘Olive’.

Everyone’s favorite, House Mouse.

Sharon demoed this snow globe die on Wednesday night. These dies are not in the store yet but I believe Sharon is taking pre-orders.

The set on the lower right is the basic set. The other three are add-ons. You have a snowman a nativity and a woodland option.

During the video Sharon created a variation of the card above. For her background she double embossed a white sheet of textured paper, first with this pine needles folder then with the snowflake folder. Keep in mind that she was able to get a “ light” touch because she uses a die cutting machine where she can adjust how much pressure is used.

Next she began cutting out her backgrounds, a house, trees and a second layer of ground using silver glitter paper. She also cut out several small pieces of gold to put behind the houses so it would look like lights in the windows.

From her stash, Sharon pulled a circle die to fit the base die. She cut her background circle and the two pieces of glitter paper with the hill and the houses.

Lastly, she cut Santa and his reindeer streaking across the sky.

Here are her two finished cards.

Mona was in on Friday with several Halloween goodies. Mona started with her take on this Sizzix stencil that Sharon featured the other night.

Mona used Halloween colors and showed that you could turn your stencil pieces in different directions and leave out a layer if you wanted.

Next Mona took the Spellbinders Halloween die set and created this box card with three layers that will fold flat.

Pretty Pink Posh is next. Mona used this label set, the spooky sign set, the scalloped matchbox styled die set. Mona also has some shakers going on.

This is a very ambitious die from Pretty Pink Posh. It has so many potential pieces that Mona used her method of holding pieces in place fabric softener sheets.

This was her first attempt which she was not happy with…(my efforts should be so disappointing).

You can make out the softener she behind the house cut out in this photo.

Because there are so many pieces that need to be fitted into the base die, Mona took the negative space of the full house die, traced around the edge in a piece of white cardstock to use as a backer piece.

Here is Mona’s happier version.

It even has a sentiment inside.

Here are all her smaller shakers and her full spooky house.

Let’s not forget Lawn Fawn’s mini box of a ghost. Mona pulled out one of her pumpkin mini boxes from last year also.

The last thing Mona shared was a few cards Sharon created with the witch edge die from Hero Arts.

I’ve been waiting on the Doodlebug Shadow Box kits to come in and last week I finally got the crafty one, put it together and framed it. So, when Sharon asked if I wanted to do the fall one for the store I said ‘Yes!’ I took the kit home on Wednesday and brought it back on Friday. As I walked into the store it suddenly dawned on me that I assembled the picture and left out a major component. The instructions clearly tell and show you all the pieces you need to pop. I didn’t pop anything…

So home I went with my lovely framed fall shadow box and proceeded to gently pry off all the elements that need to be popped. The good news is that the picture is built on vellum. This made removing the pieces easier. My other saving grace was ‘Un-Du. My tip for using Un-Du especially when you have multiple images so close together is to put a small amount of Un-Du in a dish and with a flat small brush, paint the Un-Du on the pieces you need to lift off. This worked very well for me. I used an exact blade to gently pry up a corner then painted the Un-Du under the sticker, no excess waste and great control.

That should be my funny for the post but I have another in honor of school starting.

Join me in welcoming Kim back with her inspiration cards. Her son has a challenging recovery ahead of him but we’re so happy to hear he is doing so well. Creating cards is something that helps Kim’s anxiety so I know she’s as happy as we are that she’s able to spend some time doing what she loves. Until next week, take care everyone and above all Stay Safe.
