On Saturday we had Sharon with new product and a little demo and Mona with a little Show and Tell. Sharon had a very successful presentation Friday night for Maker Mania 8. I’d also like to give a big shout out to Lucia for her design and creation of two layouts that were part of Sharon’s presentation.
I’m starting with Sharon’s demo of a new layered stencil from Sizzix. This stencil is a bit different from what we usually see in a stencil. Think how great this one would be in a multi media project.
Sharon used all Pink Fresh inks in an effort to duplicate the cover design. Sizzix dies also have two holes punched into the top of the stencils to help you line up each stencil.
Ooops! Look who snuck into my post! Cooper giving us 'the look' because he isn't getting any of our dinner!
Back to our regularly scheduled post...We love Simple Stories 12X12 solids with the tone on tone polka dots on the back. SS has now come out with 6X8 inch color packs of this paper in a variety of color packs. Brights is on top but some of the others below include Fall, Darks, and Holiday.
Several new products from Woodware. In addition to their popular gnomes, Woodware also makes a great line of stamps with traditional designs. We also have a border stencils from Woodware.
We introduced these holiday dies from Sizzix last week and now we have some samples.
There are two new color collections from 49 & Market. Product is trickling in. We have these components from the Peach collection. The other new collection is called Olive.
Sorry for the blurriness but we have these acetate leaves back in.
We also have these trims from 49 & Market. Remember you can die the white trim to go with any color you need.
We also have these great project storage containers from 49 & Market
New Rub-ons
Next is more new stamps and dies from Penny Black. These first two have edge dies that we'll demo below. We have 'blessed' and 'grateful'. Both stamps come with additional sentiments.
The matching die has it's cut line only on the top of the word. You can see it in the gray paper mat under the scripty blessed.
We also have several smaller stamp sets. When I could I tried to show the colored sample from the back of the packaging.
This is a basic shape multi stencil from PB. If you under the word 'Stencil' you will see all the stencils included in this package.
This is a new product from Penny Black. Stick & Shine is a rub-on that is tacky enough that you can layer deco foil over the sticky image, gently burnish and it will adhere to your image.
Next is the new Concord and 9th release. This first die and matching stamp set feature a stitching option.
Large holiday words with shadow.
This is a new envelope liner die from Concord & 9th.
Concord & 9th makes beautiful, very detailed, dies. This one creates a city scene with a day/night option.
You can put the sky on a spinner and change the background from day to night.
Catherine Pooler has several new stamp sets. These stamps also have a coordinated tag die set. These sentiments are designed to fit in the tag die set.
A nativity set with matching dies.
Very happy to see a menorah stamp.
A mistletoe frame die.
We also have new Catherine Pooler inks. Sharon announced that we will no longer stock the full size pads of Catherine Pooler inks. We will be stocking these smaller sizes from now on.
Lastly for Catherine Pooler, this is a bonus stamp for purchases of Catherine Pooler over $35 while supplies last.
Mona is up next showing how she’s used her stash in combination with new product to create several fun designs. Mona also gave her review of the new Precision Glue Press from My Sweet Petunia.
The glue press comes with a full bottle of Nuvo glue AND an empty bottle. You can see the glue press on the right in the photo below. The holder is shaped to hold the oval bottle design of Nuvo glue. The empty bottle lets you put your own favorite glue into a bottle that will fit the press. The press looks and works like a chalking gun. You just squeeze the handle. The innovation of this tool is that you can put your glue bottle into the press and when you are not using it, just place the press into the holder and the tip will not dry up! There is a silicone pad where the tip meets the holder that keeps the tip open while being stored. To test it Mona left her's overnight in the holder and it was clear and worked perfectly the next day. The holder even has a space to hold the regular cap of the glue bottle. You can also swap out your tip to the fine needle tip. So far, it's a thumbs up for this new tool.

Last year Mona showed this die that was part of iCrafter's match book base. This year Mona combined both the house and the gnome with Lawn Fawn's collapsible box die.
You can fold it up...or down.
Mona also shared her swinging ghosty goul.
Mona used this Concord & 9th pumpkin set for this card and the corresponding die set for the card below this one.
Notice the impressed pinpoint leaves on the white background? They come from this cover plate.
Lastly, Mona had some fun with her favorite product, the turnabout stamp.
Here is her first color combo.
She then went on to make not two, not three, not four, not five, not six - but seven different combos!
Only white on kraft and only turned three times instead of four.
Mona experimented with stamping first in white on kraft and then slightly offsetting her paper and stamping four more colors.
Mona mentioned she checks out other creators blog posts, video and new products in the morning. She came across these ideas from Jennifer McGuire. We're starting with the pumpkin 3D die set from Concord & 9th and a couple ideas for easier assembly and new use.
First, Mona made the pumpkin and added a Jack o' Lantern face from another die set.
Next, if you have this set and have assembled it you may have noticed that where you adhere each fold of the pumpkin you end up with a pretty thick multi layered joint. The engineer in Jennifer McGuire engineered a way to reduce the bulk by cutting each tab in half. Mona tried this and liked it! Mona recommends you cut it a smidge shy of exactly in half.
Look at this, a snowman! Jennifer McGuire used all three sizes of pumpkin and created the hat out of the stem!
For the hat cut out two stem bases. Join them together and turn the tabs in.
Cut a circle out of black, I believe Mona used a circe die of 2 1/8" and carefully attach to the folded in tabs. Cut a corresponding circle for the brim of the hat. Use your black gems for the buttons, eyes and mouth. Cut an orange wedge for the nose and find a piece of ribbon for his scarf, great idea!
Im not a fan of Shark Week, Snarknado, swimming with sharks or anything having to do with sharks! But I think this is funny.
That's it for this week. We have a lot of great classes this week (I'm taking three of them!) So we will either see you in the store or back on-line next week. Until then get your craft on and above all Stay Safe everyone!
