Sunday Surprise!

Welcome from Sharon's home! This was the scene on Friday morning from Sharon's front porch! It was also before she got another 2-3 feet from Friday to early Sunday morning!

My first surprise was Kim posted today with a demo on creating trees using the new Pretty Pink Posh dimensional tree die set. Please check it out, the post appears right below this one.

I was finishing up one of my layouts from my retreat when my iPad pinged with a notice that BSS was live! Sharon has been home since Wednesday night with lots of time for card creating. She must have had a little I’d snowy ESP going on because she brought home lots of things to color. Here's a grouping of those cards.

But first up is a card from Stamp Camp. If you are looking for an easy but classically elegant card you might like this. Sharon used a pearlized white paper along with this embossing folder from Spellbinders. You can see the card peeing out behind the folder. Check out the end of this post for a full view of the card.

Sharon had so much time to color! She also cleaned her house but we won't talk about that...Using her Copics and several of her new OLO's she did this card. The first strip of red is Copic, the next two are OLO and go quite well together, Among her observations were, you don't get the streak lines you sometimes get with Copics AND the two types of markers blend really nicely.

Sharon also pointed out that the OLO tip she is pointing to contains the same amount of ink the Copic above it does. She still loves her Copics but will be supplementing them with OLO's

Sharon's Nirvana, coloring Whipper Snapper. The reds and greens are OLO's. Copics did the rest. There was also plenty of Wink of Stella and a bit of Glossy Accents on this card. Sharon brought her stamps but she relied on a large box of 'extras' she has at home for several of the backgrounds and sentiments. This box contains duplicates and extras she has made over the months that she hasn't used or did for demo purposes.

Here's a look-see into the box!

More cards, this one is a Woodware design. Again, accented with lots of Wink of Stella and sequins.

Next up is a whole lot of PhotoPlay stamps cut with coordinating dies. Sharon used the negative of an ornate rectangle to cut the front open area where she built her scene.

Two things first, the stamp off to the side is another Whipper Snapper which Sharon will share in another post. The 'merry and bright' is a sentiment from Taylored Expressions cut in white and colored with OLO's.

Here is the stamp used for the sentiment. It is one large stamp with a coordinating die that will cut the all the individual sentiments at one time.

Next up is Creative Expressions (I Think!) You can see the stamp on the finished card and you can also see the coordinating dies below the stamp. This is a three way die set. You can stamp along either the right or left of a card edge and then cut the stamp along the stamped edge. Or, you can combine both the left and right edge die and to cut out the full stamp. You can see a sample of the edge option in the packaging below.

This is the Colorado Craft Company and while it's a slim line stamp, Sharon is showing you how you can use a portion of the stamp and still create a full image card.

Sharon has wanted to do these for quite a while. LDRS packaged these for Polka Dot Stamps. Polka Dot now distributes and packages their own. Sharon used a red ink to stamp her sentiment. These are darling!

I forgot whose die this was and Sharon is not sure it is still made. It was part of her box stash. Sharon cut it out in black and then used gold paste to gently brush on with her finger.

This is an incomplete Pretty Pink Posh floral die set on top of a Pink Fresh layered background (one of my oft used favorites). She's still not sure of what kind of shading she'd like to do but she will share when she finishes.

Sharon finished up with the chrysanthemum Washi tape roll on these cards. She has used the dies that go with the roll of Washi tape.

In this card she used a bright yellow background mat behind her dotted circle mat but the bright yellow didn't really work with the flowers. So, to mute the brightness of the yellow, she put a piece of vellum over the circle portion, works great!

Sharon used several of the pre-made sentiments from Pink Fresh on these cards.

Here are the final cards Sharon finished including that first one featuring the Spellbinders embossing folder.

The store will be open on Monday and our holiday hours are M-T-W 1:00-#:00, Closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving and Friday 10-6, Saturday 10-4. There probably will not be a video on Wednesday night, but Sharon will be back next Saturday. Also, there will be lots of special sales going on all week and next Saturday on Small Business Saturday. Check your e-mails for details on upcoming sales. There will also be unannounced in-store specials. Come in, check out all these great samples, Say Hi! and pick up some great bargains.

My funny for today is compliments of the Buffalo Bills. This is Sam Martin, the Bills kicker who finally 'Found his Truck!'

That's it for me. I have never had to post so many photos and replies in response to concern over Buffalo weather! The national news really must have poured it on! I've had concerns from Arizona, Florida, Long Island, NYC, Geneva, NY and Rochester! Here in Wiliamsville we came out OK, about 2 feet total, but I willing shared photos like the ones above with all those who asked. I'm also thankful for all the good thoughts and concerns sent our way.

I'll wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. Our daughter is flying in tomorrow night and will be with us for the week so did I make cards these last few days, nooooo not me, I cleaned! Have a great week everyone and I'll be back after Saturday's video. Until then get crafty, don't eat too much, shop a little (at BSS!) and above all - Stay Safe.
